The SCI Race Squad have competed very successfully at the GBR Indoor Series 2016. Podium places included:
1st – Garreth Reilly U18, GBR Race 3
2nd – Emer Pisarnik U21, Scottish Indoor Champs
3rd – Meabh Croft U16 Races 4 & 5, Katie McCracken U21 Races 1 & 2, Emer Pisarnik U21 Race 3, Mathew McCormack U21 Race 5, Cillian Singleton U18 Race 3
Overall Standing: Scottish Champs – Emer Pisarnik 3rd in the Ladies Competition. Emer also came 4th overall in GBR Ladies Race 3. Garreth Reilly came 5th overall in the Mens Race in GBR Race 3.
Great results so far for all worthy winners, but all team members are to be congratulated on turning out and putting in great performances. Special recognition also goes to those who travelled away as part of the team for the first time – well done guys! It’s a great experience which we hope you’ll all capitalise on over the coming season.

Races 1 & 2 – Chill Factore, Manchester, 7-8th May
A team of 12 headed to Manchester for the first 2 races in the series. The girls were: Isobel Ainsworth, Meabh Croft, Katie McCracken, Olivia O’Brien and the boys: Alex Ainsworth, Cameron Columb, Nathan Columb, Lorcan Foley, Matthew McCormack, Eoin O’Callanain, Lee Ryan, Cillian Singleton. Support team included Ronan Columb as coach and Gertrude O’Brien as houseparent.
Katie McCracken finished 3rd in U21s on both days earning a podium place and bronze medals. Cillian Singleton finished 4th in U18s on Sunday narrowly missing out on a medal place.
Race 3 & Scottish Indoor Champs – Snowfactor, Breahead, Glasgow, 18-19th June
The team for Scotland included Isobel Ainsworth, Katie McCracken, Olivia O’Brien and Alex Ainsworth, Richard Ainsworth, Jack Brown, Cameron Columb, Matthew McCormack, Garreth Reilly, Cillian Singleton. Support team included Emer Pisarnik as coach and James McCormack as houseparent.
In GBR Series Race 3, podium places went to Emer Pisarnik who came 3rd in U21s on Saturday and won 4th overall place and Garrett Reilly who won 1st place and gold in U18s and 5th overall in the Men’s standing. Matthew McCormack finished 4th in U21, just missing out on a medal.
In the Scottish Champs, Emer finished 2nd in U21s and 3rd overall and Matthew again finished 4th in U21s.
Races 4 & 5 – Snozone, Castleford, 16-17th July
A team of 8 headed to Castleford for the next races in the series. The girls were: Isobel Ainsworth, Laois Brennan, Meabh Croft, Katie McCracken, and the boys: Alex Ainsworth, Richard Ainsworth, Matthew McCormack, Cillian Singleton. Support team included Derek Bolger and Keith McCracken as houseparents.
In Race 4 Meabh Croft finished 3rd in U16s earning a podium place and bronze medals. Cillian Singleton also finished 3rd in U18s. On Sunday in Race 5 Meabh Croft finished 3rd in U16s, Matthew McCormack worn 3rd place in the U21s and Cillian finished 4th in U18s narrowly missing out on a medal place.
