Minis Coach
I began skiing when I was 7, doing a lot of my early skiing in Austria and France. I used to come up to the member’s night on Saturday evenings, that’s where my parents learned of the Saturdays Minis training. I moved up to the Senior Race Squad when I was 11 and became immediately hooked on ski racing. With the race squad, I have competed in many artificial and indoor competitions. I have trained and competed in many countries across Europe. During my Transition Year I moved abroad to Norway for a few months to train. Living in Norway was amazing, training daily during the week with Sundays free to climb the high peaks and explore the gullies around the resort.
I began competing in the SCI league races and Irish Champs when I was younger. Some of my fondest memories of ski racing were from the weekend trips over to the UK summer races. I have competed twice at Borrufa in Andorra but my proudest achievement would be to participate in the European Youth Olympics.
I am currently a L.2 IASI qualified instructor and am completing the required modules to become a qualified L.3 instructor, which would allow me to teach full time on snow. I began coaching the Minis are have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I also coached the university students to prepare them for competitions such as BUDS and Intervarsities.
My favourite skiers are Ivica Kostelic and Jean Baptiste Grange. They were so consistent and dominant in slalom. I also loved watching Didier Cuche tearing it down in Super G and Downhill.
